Skunkmonkey productions is musician (trumpet player), composer & sound artist Roger Mills. Originally from Sydney I came to live and work in the UK in 1987. My influences span a wide range of musical styles and genres from classical, jazz, dub to artnoise & ambient soundtrack. "Dvorak meets Miles Davis for a late night jam with King tubby" I have co written albums with Statik Sound System, Spaceways and Eludea (previously Vine) – Cup of Tea Records and sessioned for Purple Penguin and Grantby – Mo'Wax. I have also composed music for commercials, animations and documentaries, including Lonely Planet and Cod Steaks Children’s animation 'Shelby & Egbert'. As well as co -writing the music for two shows by BAFTA award winning dance company Earthfall. I am also a founding member of the international artists collective Here Nor There. While my work is generally based in the mediums of recorded albums, television, film and dance, I am also very interested in music and sound as installation, particularly in the new technologies and public art context. contact: roger@skunkmonkey.co.uk
